Response to two special offers from CMS Mid-Atlantic have been very well received by the communities in which they manage cemeteries — leading to an extension of both offers through Memorial Day, May 26, 2008. Veterans will continue to receive a $500 credit toward the purchase of their burial space before the time of need; and an additional $500 credit toward the purchase of burial space for their spouse — for total savings of $1,000. The savings offer for first responders also will remain in place through Memorial Day. Police officers, firefighters, emergency services technicians as well as sanitation and utility company workers will receive a $350 credit when they purchase a final resting place in a CMS Mid-Atlantic-affiliated cemetery before the time of need. Additionally, when a first responder purchases a burial space for his/her spouse, they will receive another $350 credit. That’s a savings of $700 when two burial/entombment spaces are purchased. In situations where a first responder also is a veteran, he or she, along with their spouse, will only be eligible for one discount program — the greater of the two — for individual savings of $500 or $1,000 for a veteran and his or her spouse. “The contributions these individuals make to ensure our freedom and safety is invaluable,” says Bernard E.
