Hollywood Memorial Park, in Union, New Jersey, welcomed more than 175
people for its Annual Christmas Service,
Saturday, December 16 in the cemetery’s chapel.
“Families came quite a distance to participate
in our service," explained Emily Urban, a family service counselor at Hollywood Memorial Park. "Some people came
from further than an hour away to join us."
Reverend Monsignor Venantius M.
Fernanda, from Christ the King
Church in Hillside, New Jersey
officiated and Reverend Howard Bryant, Sr., from Family and Child Services in
Elizabeth, New Jersey provided the music and led those in
attendance in singing Christmas songs during the non-denominational
service.
“When you’ve lost a loved one, the holidays can be a sad time,” explained
Ms. Urban. “We wanted to help
people in our community find comfort during this joyous season through dignified
and loving remembrance of their loved ones. In fact, many of those in
attenance asked us to consider hosting a similar service during the Easter
season.”
