The Public is Invited to New Section Dedication

Chinese American Memorial Gardens to Open at Laurel Grove Cemetery

The public is inivited to attend the Dedication Ceremony for the Chinese American Memorial Gardens Section at Laurel Grove Cemetery, in Totowa, New Jersey, on Tuesday, October, 23, at 11:00 a.m.

The Chinese American Memorial Garden section is designed to be a sincere reflection of cemeteries throughout the many provinces of China. Its features include:

·        Interment spaces totaling 3,824

·        Terraced land with over one mile of sidewalks installed on each of the terraces

·        A design that will accommodate numerous private mausoleum estates and private family estates

·        A wall of reflection will be erected and the façade will be covered with the finest of black granites, and families will have their names memorialized in 23 karat gold leaf

·        At the very top of the section, there will be a very large Chinese pagoda erected

·        Flag poles that will freely wave the flags of the United States of America and China

Future plans call for as many as 1,000 mausoleum crypts to be erected along the uppermost boundary of the newly developed section.  The structure will have a series of different levels which will constitute different heights that will be capped off with additional Pagoda tops. This is a very unique structure and the only of its kind in the state of New Jersey.
