Christine Schultz, a family service
manager for CMS Mid-Atlantic, Inc. is the new president of the Passaic County
200 Club. On May 10, 2007, Ms.
Schultz was elected to a three-year term as president of the 160-member
organization dedicated to providing
financial assistance to the families of public safety and rescue personnel who
are killed in the line of duty. This includes the police officers (state,
county, and municipal), correction officers, fire fighters, and rescue squad
technicians of Passaic County.
Ms. Schultz’s election marks the first time that
a woman will hold the office of president for the Passaic County 200 Club. She has served as a member of the
organizations’ board of directors for many years.
“This is a true honor for Christine and CMS
Mid-Atlantic,” said Bernard E. Stoecklein, Jr., chairman and CEO of CMS, who
offered the invocation at the May 10 banquet. “Christine has a long history of
supporting the law enforcement and emergency services personnel in this
community. Her vision, dedication
and strong leadership skills will be an asset to the Passaic County 200 Club and
the law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel they
serve.”
Also
during the 200 Club banquet, Ms. Schultz’s brother, Corporal Timothy Schultz,
who is a special operations officer with the Anne Arundel
County (Maryland) SWAT Team, was presented with the
Award of Valor. Cpl. Schultz was
recognized for his heroic efforts during an incident when he was serving a
search warrant and was confronted by an armed subject wanted for attempted
murder. When the suspect fired,
without hesitation, Corporal Schultz returned fire, fatally wounding the
suspect. His actions saved not only
his own life, but that of other team members as well.
“I was very proud to watch as my brother
received the Award of Valor,” Ms. Schultz said. “The mission of the 200 Club is very
near and dear to my heart. I feel
privileged to be given the opportunity to lead this wonderful organization and
to have Mr. Stoecklein support the efforts of the 200 Club with his high level
of commitment and enthusiasm.”
CMS Mid-Atlantic, Inc. is among the individuals,
companies and organizations who are
members of the Passaic County 200 Club.
In support of the group’s mission, CMS offers burial space and opening
and closing at no charge at its six affiliated cemeteries and memorial parks to
any law enforcement officer, firefighter or emergency service personnel killed
in the line of duty as well as a $1,000 scholarship to each of their
children.
