Since the introduction of New Jersey Bill A2973 known as the Distressed
Cemetery Maintenance and Preservation Act, concerned citizens have been
contacting their legislators encouraging their support of this
legislation.
A2973 is vital to the solvency of the more than 375 regulated cemeteries in
New Jersey. More than 60% of these properties do not have enough money in
their Maintenance and Preservation Funds for current or future maintenance of
their graves or properties.
The concerned residents want to ensure that their cemeteries will be here
today, tomorrow and always to preserve their memories. That's why they are
writing and calling their legislators.
