New Jersey Cemetery Board Regulations Include Provisions for Maintenance and Preservation Funds

Each New Jersey Cemetery is Required to Create a Fund for the Permanent Maintenance and Preservation of the Cemetery

When people purchase a grave or mausoleum crypt/niche in a New Jersey cemetery or memorial park, they do so knowing that the New Jersey Cemetery Board, which is within the Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Law and Public Safety, mandates that each cemetery/memorial park has an irrevocable trust fund, called the Maintenance and Preservation Fund that is used for cemetery upkeep and beautification.
